To support the "Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme" (MBIS) and the "Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme" (MWIS), the Hong Kong Housing Society develops and operates the "Voluntary Building Assessment Scheme"  (VBAS) with the objective to encourage building owners to properly manage and maintain their buildings on their own initiatives.

All private domestic building and composite building (domestic and commercial) with building management are welcome to join the VBAS.  Building certified under the VBAS will be recognized by the Building Authority for having fulfilled the requirements under the MBIS and MWIS (in respect of windows in common parts only) within the respective inspection cycles.

All R.P.H.M. are qualified for registration as a VBAS Assessors List 2B.
